Baby swimming lessons in London
Our parent-and-baby swim lessons are all about bonding, sensory play, and early water confidence. Heated pools, gentle games, and expert guidance help babies and parents explore the water together.
Why start early
Being in the water is a wonderful sensory experience for babies. It helps them discover balance, coordination, and calm — and builds lifelong confidence from the very first splash.
Our swim lessons for 3-year-olds and under are designed to:
- Build trust and water awareness through playful, gentle routines.
- Support physical, emotional, and sensory development.
- Strengthen the parent-baby bond through shared movement and smiles.
- Introduce vital early safety habits: floating, submersion, turning, kicking and reaching the side.

Each parent infant swim lesson runs for 30 minutes, in a warm pool at 31°C – the perfect environment for comfort and confidence.

FAQs
What age can my baby start swimming?
Babies can join from around six weeks old, or once you feel ready after birth. Our pools are warm and shallow, making them perfect for little ones.
Do I need to be a confident swimmer?
Not at all. Our pools are maximum 1.2m depth and you will always be within arm’s reach of your baby and supported by an instructor in the water.
What should my baby wear?
A double-nappy system (swim nappy + neoprene over-nappy) is required. A soft swimsuit or wetsuit helps keep them cosy. You can purchase these in the club.
Can both parents attend baby swim classes?
Only one parent swims with baby, but the other is always welcome poolside to watch and cheer them on.
What if my baby cries or gets upset?
Completely normal! Our instructors use gentle routines and songs to help babies settle. Most relax within a few sessions. Keep going, it will be worth it.
Why do baby swimming classes use the same songs and routines each week?
Repetition is key to helping babies feel comfortable and confident in the water. By hearing familiar songs and repeating the same gentle movements, your baby begins to anticipate what comes next — which builds trust, security, and muscle memory. Over time, those small, repeated actions become instinctive swimming skills. The predictability also helps parents relax, making the whole experience calmer and more enjoyable for everyone.
